Environmental justice primer

We’ve prepared an environmental justice primer for the event. Printed copies will be available to everyone who attends the convergence.

This primer includes descriptions of some important environmental issues within Canada, with a special focus on Ontario. This information is meant to educate and ‘act’ivate readers and better situate you in regards to topics at the convergence.

Why Earth Isn’t First in Canada

We’ve put together a document about some important environmental issues within Canada, with a special focus on Ontario. This is meant to further raise your awareness about what is happening on a more local scale, to help us to organize within our communities or support already existing initiatives that are fighting ruthless environmental destruction.

These are the seven sections that we’ve covered here –
~ The Tar Sands Seep Into Ontario
~ Nuclear Waste Disposal
~ Mining on the Mind
~ Deforestation and the Assault on Wild Life
~ Hold Your Breath: The Issue of Air Pollution
~ The Great Lakes: Our Great….Toilet?
~ Water is A Right: The Struggle of Indigenous Communities
